As Technical Product Manager (TPM) of The Compound Company, you will be responsible for the product portfolio management of the Yparex® and EcoForte® product groups.

We offer customized compound solutions for various applications in industries such as Building and Construction, Automotive and Packaging. Our compounds are produced at two locations in Enschede, one in Roermond and we are currently working on a production location in Cologne (D). Our customers buy the well-known brands Yparex® and EcoForte®.

As Technical Product Manager you are responsible for all activities related to further setting up, improving and managing the product portfolio. This includes tasks such as managing recipes, selection of (alternative) raw materials, product related communication such as TDS/SDS/Labels, managing the product master data. 
You have an independent and responsible function and ensure that you perform, secure and record the work correctly.  
 
It is a position in which you report to the Research & Development manager. You work very closely with the R&D departments, Quality Control, the RA Manager and of course with the portfolio responsible Commercial Directors. Patent matters are also definitely on your plate. In mutual agreement we determine the location.
 
What are you going to do?
  • Create and update recipes (either with or without the product developers) for products (new types, variants with alternative raw materials, etc.)
  • Making all new or modified recipes available to the entire business
  • Set up and commission qualitative validations of new recipes. 
  • Drawing up quality profiles/specifications and analysis plans 
  • Monitor the quality of production batches in collaboration with the Quality lab, first point of contact for escalation of quality issues 
  • Drafting and maintaining the product documentation, such as TDS/SDS/labels/etc. 
  • Drafting of product related correspondence with customers (waivers, ad-hoc quality declarations, etc.) 
  • Working closely with the RA Manager for the preparation of RA documents 
  • Participate and contribute to improvement projects for the production sites
  • Maintaining, elaborating and reporting (English TOPS-8D reports for the customer) of complaints 
  • Participating in the Raw Materials Consultation in the search for suitable alternative raw materials for existing and development products 
  • Helping decide on the production technology required for the production of types. 
 
What is required?
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in R&D, Manufacturing or Marketing with additional experience as Product Manager for at least 3 years
  • University degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with project and program management 
  • Experience in working effectively with cross functional teams 
  • Knowledge of and experience with (extrusion of) plastics is an advantage
  • Good command of the English and German languages
